John 10.10 “I have come that they may have life and that abundantly”  - Jesus

Coaching and Counseling

Our History

Keys4-Life began at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota with a group of people who were simply trying to recover from life.   What started out as a singles and divorce recovery ministry transformed into a quest of learning together the principles of life and good relationships.

Keys4-Life (or Keys4) was actually started in November of 2004 with God’s direction and became a non-profit tax deductible 501(c)3 corporation shortly after that.

The move to Phoenix, Arizona was pushed a lot by my lungs not handling cold and Cheryl’s desire to move to somewhere warm.  My job in Minneapolis was downsized and with the handwriting on the wall, we moved here because of available jobs in the Phoenix area.  We became part of a two different churches in a effort to see what God wanted to do.

Hosea 2.14 was one of the promise verses that God gave at the time and its meaning remained unclear for sometime.  “I led you into the desert wilderness that I might woo you with words of Grace”.  It was in the emptiness of the Phoenix desert that God began to complete of the pieces of “attachment theory” and “arrested development” as it relates to a relationship to God.  I began to see through the ministry of several others the life changing power of being God’s son and learning that He wanted to be called Abba, Father.

With that came a completely new understanding of Grace as I began to discover “The Missing Link” in Ephesians 3.14-21 and the importance, the imperative of learning to live life “rooted and grounded” in God’s love rather than the world value systems of 1) Performance, 2) Pretending, 3) Possessions, 4) Pleasures, 5) Power/Control of circumstances and others, 6) Praise of men 7) Personal Empowerment  and 8) People co-dependency.   Father began to show me the five faces of Grace.

From that came God’s direction to finish my Ph.D and with it the understanding of the orphan heart, as verses the heart of Sonship.   Then came the revelation of the core of sin in our lives.  The sin nature of the self-sufficiency, self-dependence as verses the heart of trust.  “Whatsoever is not of faith is of sin”.

For years I held the burdens of Father’s love in my heart, wanting to share it with others so they could know the peace, rest, joy, freedom, and love that Father’s Spirit brings.  It seemed unbearable.  But God continued to hold to Psalm 40.1-4 as the promise He had given.  “I waited patiently for the Lord…” Father continued to say, I was to wait.  At the end of 2012 God began to move in some amazing ways to show us that we were to move forward.  On April 15, 2013 we decided God’s plan was to live by faith and work just on our Keys4-Life ministry.

We would covet your prayers as God may lead you on our behalf that we may reach many one heart at a time.  We continue to work counseling, coaching and mentoring those God entrusts to our care.
